Mr Richard Langton CGeog (Teacher)

Biography

Richard has been the Headmaster of Queen Mary's Grammar School in Walsall since January 2018. Prior to that, he was the Deputy Head at QMGS, with a responsibility for the curriculum, as well as teaching and learning. He has been a member of the ASCL national council since 2014. Until July 2011, he was the Head of Geography at Lawrence Sheriff School in Rugby (where he taught for 11 years). He received his BA in Geography from the University of Birmingham in 1999 and qualified as a teacher in 2000. He also has a MA in Geography in Education from the Institute of Education at the University of London. Richard has led World Challenge expeditions to India, Tanzania and Chile, where he has established links with schools in these countries. He developed numerous fieldwork trips and has worked extensively on cross curricular links. He has devised resources for (and led CPD on) Geography in the News resources through the RGS. Richard completed his NPQH in 2017.
