Biography
Rob Chambers is a Chartered Geographer, experienced geography educator and curriculum specialist with over 25 years’ experience in secondary education. He has worked as a Head of Geography and, most recently, as National Lead for Geography across a multi-academy trust, supporting curriculum development, assessment, teacher development and subject leadership across a network of schools. Rob has particular expertise in curriculum coherence, disciplinary knowledge, fieldwork, assessment, and the development of ambitious geography education from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5. He has also worked with examination boards, professional subject communities and national geography networks. Rob is interested in how geography helps young people understand complex contemporary challenges, including sustainability, climate change, place, inequality and environmental change. He now works independently, supporting schools, trusts and organisations with geography curriculum development, professional learning, assessment, and strategic subject improvement rooted in strong disciplinary thinking.
