Biography

Shashank Dakave is a Principal Consultant – GIS at Arcadis India with over 15 years of experience delivering GIS solutions for major infrastructure, transportation and urban development projects across the UK, Canada, the Middle East and India. He specialises in enterprise GIS, spatial data management, GIS–BIM integration, web GIS and digital transformation. Shashank has led multidisciplinary GIS teams in the successful delivery of complex programmes, including rail, highways and master planning projects. He has played a key role in developing innovative digital solutions such as Smart Atlas applications, spatial decision-support systems and automated GIS workflows to improve project efficiency and stakeholder engagement. Passionate about advancing the geospatial profession, he actively mentors early-career professionals, promotes knowledge sharing and champions the adoption of emerging technologies, including GeoAI and automation, to enhance the value of geography in infrastructure planning and delivery.
