Mr Stephen Knox CGeog (GIS)

Biography

I am a passionate geographer and technologist, working in the field of GIS and Geospatial Data Science and Engineering. I started my career in the Transport Planning sector, so also have a particular interest in this field. I work at the built environment and consulting company Arup, where I develop desktop and web-facing mapping solutions for clients, working principally on the application backend to ensure consistency in data and application behaviour. I am a frequent user of and contributor to Open Source GIS software, such as QGIS, Postgis and GDAL. I am also a contributor to OpenStreetMap and enjoy using and talking about the benefits of Open Data
