Biography

Assistant Principal and Subject Team Leader of Geography and Travel and Tourism at Lyndon School with responsibility for data and reporting, pupil premium and character virtues and praise in addition to developing Teaching and Learning within Geography and integrating two other departments (History and R.E.) in to one faculty area - Humanities. Within the Summit Learning Trust, Thanh Nguyen is a Trust Lead (which involves moderation of exam scripts and curriculum development and assessment across 3 secondary schools in Birmingham at KS3 and KS4) whilst also providing coaching and support for Geography staff with subject knowledge enhancement and teaching and learning pedagogy through the principles of instruction. Thanh Nguyen also has experience working as a Team Lead examiner with one of the examination boards and has worked closely with Birmingham City University, Ninestiles GTP Consortium/ South Birmingham SCITT and Kings College London ITT provision on ITT subject knowledge enhancement whilst also utilising his wide background of tutoring experiences across all major GCSE and A Level examination boards to deliver outcomes consistent, or above, national grade averages. Consultancy work has also been carried out supporting Geography and Travel and Tourism departments with several schools in the West Midlands with experience with the implementation of Character Virtues within a large secondary school setting
