Biography

Starting out as a digital cartographer in Johannesburg, Thomas moved to the UK and joined Surrey Police as a Mapping and Data Officer. Thomas presented papers on web-mapping tools for neighbourhood policing at GIS conferences in London and San Francisco. At the London Borough of Hackney, Thomas led a GIS team to support the council’s systems, managed a master data team, and in his spare time volunteered for the charity, MapAction. After moving to Melbourne, Australia, Thomas successfully delivered a Digital Transformation program at the Environment Protection Authority. Now a Solution Architect at Manningham City Council, Thomas is a technical problem solver with experience in Enterprise and Solution Architecture, ITSM, application management, GIS & spatial solutions and master data management.
