Biography

I am a Chartered Geographer with over 20 years' experience spanning geography education, environmental management, learning and development, and public sector leadership. As National Operations Learning and Development Manager at Natural England, I lead the development of learning strategy and capability for around 2,000 operational staff, helping build the specialist knowledge and skills needed to restore nature at landscape scale. My career combines expertise in environmental policy, sustainable land management, agriculture, and geography education with extensive experience of partnership working, stakeholder engagement, and organisational development. Alongside my public sector role, I teach A Level and GCSE Geography, work as a freelance education consultant, and serve as a Geography examiner and moderator. I am passionate about developing people, improving professional practice, and promoting geographical understanding to support informed environmental decision-making. I believe geography provides an essential framework for addressing today's complex environmental and societal challenges.
