Biography
Jane Toon - MSc, BSc, CGeog (GIS) Software Test Engineer and Technical Author Jane has over 25 years' experience in the GIS and IT industry working as a Software Tester, Technical Author and Product Engineer. Now as a volunteer for the The Soil Association and recently as a Software Test Engineer and Technical Author in the InfoFlex group at Civica – providing Clinical Information Solutions to the Healthcare Industry. Previously to this Jane worked as a Documentation Manager and GIS Product Engineer at Esri UK. Before joining Esri UK Jane was technical lead in a global team providing IT Knowledge Management at Arthur Andersen. She has also held roles as a GIS Software Developer in the Petroleum Services Group at Andersen (now Wood Mackenzie Upstream Oil and Gas), and as Technical Coordinator for 'Cities Revealed' aerial data at The GeoInformation Group, now Verisk. Jane has a BSc 1st Class (Hons) in Geographical Information Systems from Kingston University, and an MSc in Remote Sensing from University College London. Jane now works part-time as a volunteer with the Soil Association Land Trust at Woodoaks Farm, Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire.
