Michelle Halstead is a Chartered Geographer (CGeog) with 20 years' experience delivering large-scale geospatial projects across the public and private sectors. Holding an APM qualification, they lead a team of GIS consultants, balancing technical mentoring with pastoral care. In their current role, they manage the entire project lifecycle—from tendering to delivery—while maintaining advanced proficiency across the Esri suite, QGIS, FME, MapInfo and other spatial tailored solutions. An industry advocate, Michelle is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (RGS) who promotes the profession through speaking at university career days and conferences. Volunteering roles include mentoring as part of the Women+ in Geospatial programme, Deputy Street Custodian for the North West and an AGI Network Lead. Combining foundational skills in aerial and topographic surveying, they remain dedicated to leadership, people engagement, and cutting-edge GIS advancements.
