Biography
Rachael Bailey is a Senior Technical Director at Arcadis. She has an overarching sector lead role for the Environmental Planning team, leading on the creation of new propositions and strengthening client relationships. She has over twenty three years’ experience managing major projects and programmes, including UK Environmental Impact Assessments (TCPA, DCO etc), Environmental and Sustainability Studies. She is an expert provider of Environmental Impact Assessment and Development Consent Order advice and is a registered EIA practitioner. She has written technical EIA guidance for the Highways England Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and Project Control Framework products. Rachael has a strong track record in reducing the environmental and social risks associated with project finance. Her expertise includes delivering complex ESIAs, for major infrastructure projects, such as High Speed Rail and Airport Projects in Turkey, new highways in Kazakhstan, Macedonia and Tajikistan, and solid waste projects in Moldova and Ukraine. She also undertakes ESDD and gap analysis reviews of ESIAs, against International Standards, Equator Principles, EBRD, World Bank, IFC. Rachael has prepared ESIAs for projects across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Caribbean.
