Ms Vicki-Jayne Pountney CGeog (Teacher)

Biography

Vicki is a Senior Lecturer in Education at Sheffield Hallam University. She leads the PGCE secondary geography programme and has leadership responsibility for undergraduate and postgraduate geography provision on ITE programmes within the Sheffield Institute of Education. Previously, Vicki worked in secondary schools across West and South Yorkshire holding roles including Head of Geography, Head of Year, PSHE co-ordinator and Advanced Skills Teacher. She has also worked as a Teaching and Learning Consultant for a Local Authority, working with teachers and school leaders in primary, secondary and special schools. She is currently a doctoral student with research interests in the roles, practices and professional development needs of primary geography subject leaders. Vicki also chairs the GA Teacher Education Phase Committee and contributes to Teaching Geography.
