
Professor David Petley CGeog
Biography
Dave Petley has strategic responsibility for research, innovation and research degrees at the University of Sheffield, as well as holding a personal Chair in Physical Geography. He spent much of his career as a professor at the University of Durham before moving to become PVC (Research) at UEA, and then VP at the University of Sheffield. His research focuses on landslide mechanisms and impacts, using field data collection, lab simulation and dataset integration to characterise landslide behaviour. His field areas include New Zealand, Nepal, Chile and the UK.
