Biography

Since 1987 David has been a Professor of Geography at Edinburgh University. He is a physical geographer and world leader in glacial and polar geomorphology. His research seeks to understand how ice sheets behave and interact with the global environment. He has been involved in projects in the Arctic on five occasions and in the Antarctic on 13 occasions and his research led to the discovery of the oldest ice yet found on earth. David is the author of three books and over 100 papers on glacial-related topics.
