Biography
Professor Julia Branson is a Geographer and Computer Scientist. She has worked at GeoData, University of Southampton for over 30 years as a researcher / consultant during which she has been involved in a large number of short and long-term projects for clients in the UK and overseas including local authorities, Forestry Commission, World Bank, UN FAO, Environment Agency, Historic England, Citizens Advice and HSE. Her main skills are in database design and implementation, GIS analysis, business and systems analysis and managing large-scale survey projects. Julia is responsible for the management of GeoData’s GIS and database team, managing all aspects of database and GIS projects, including tendering, project management and technical direction. She is on the steering group of Southampton Geospatial.
