Gender and Feminist Geographies Research Group conference session sponsorship
The Gender and Feminist Geographies Research Group (GFGRG) would like to invite expressions of interest for sponsored sessions at the Society's 2026 Annual Conference.
Professor Peter Hopkins (Newcastle University, UK) will Chair the Society's Annual International Conference 2026. This year's conference theme is Geographies of inequalities: toward just places.
It will be hosted in London at the Society and Imperial College London, with online participation available, from Tuesday, 1 September to Friday, 4 September 2026.
We invite proposals for sessions that engage with pressing and contemporary issues in gender and feminist geographies, with particular emphasis on those aligned with the conference theme.
A variety of formats are welcome—including panels, round tables, Q&As, practitioner forums, films, and performances—as well as applications for co-sponsorship with other research groups.
Please email queries and submissions to the group’s joint conference organisers, Rituparna Bhattacharyya at rituparna.bhattacharyya@accb.org.uk and Alkım Karaağaç at e.a.karaagac@bham.ac.uk
Include:
- Session title (max. 15 words)
- Abstract (max. 300 words)
- Name(s) and affiliation(s) of the session convenor(s)
- Anticipated format of the session
Session convenors will be notified soon after as to whether or not GFGRG will be able to provide sponsorship for the session. We can sponsor up to 12 session slots.
Please bear in mind that sessions cannot occupy more than two slots in the whole programme. Speakers in sessions sponsored by the GFGRG will be able to apply for guest passes, subject to eligibility.
Once a sponsorship decision has been made, convenors will have until 6 March 2026 to provide the full session details (with all proposed papers and presenters) for final submission to the Society.
Deadline: 15 February 2026.
