Geographies of Health and Wellbeing Research Group

Geographies of Health and Wellbeing Research Group - Friday 9 February

The Geographies of Health and Wellbeing Research Group (GHWRG) of the RGS-IBG would like to invite expressions of interest for sponsored sessions at the RGS-IBG 2024 Annual Conference. AC2024 will take place in London at the Society and Imperial College London, and online, from Tuesday 27 to Friday 30 August 2024.  The Chair theme for this conference year’s conference is mapping, and will chaired by Professor Stephen Legg.

GHWRG would be interested in sponsoring sessions that engage with the conference theme and these questions from the perspective of health, wellbeing, and medical geographies. We of course also welcome other sessions that do NOT engage with the theme, particularly if you can justify that it is on a pressing and topical issue related to health and wellbeing.

The deadline for sponsored session proposal submissions to GHWRG is Friday 9 February 2024.

Please email submissions to Wenjing Zhang (wzzhang@liverpool.ac.uk)  including session title and abstract (max 400 words), name(s) and affiliation(s) of the session convenor(s), contact details, and format of the session.

Session convenors will be notified by Friday 16 February as to whether GHWRG will be able to provide sponsorship for your session.

We can sponsor up to 12 timeslots in the programme. Please bear in mind that sessions cannot occupy more than two slots in the whole programme.

We also have a limited number of guest registration passes available if one of your session participants is from outside the UK, or from within the UK but working in a different discipline or non-academic context. Please state in your submission if you would be interested in a guest pass and for how many days.

Once a sponsorship decision has been made, you will have until Friday 1 March 2024 to provide the full session details (with all proposed papers and presenters) for final submission to the RGS-IBG. More information can be found here.

We look forward to hearing from you. If you have any specific queries regarding session proposal submissions to the GHWRG, please contact Wenjing Zhang (wzzhang@liverpool.ac.uk) and Maria Fannin (M.Fannin@bristol.ac.uk).
