Landscape Geography Working Group conference session sponsorship
The Landscape Geography Working Group (LGWG) is accepting expressions of interest for sponsored sessions or landscape geography-related events for the Society's 2026 Annual International Conference.
In line with the conference theme of Geographies of inequalities: towards just places, we're particularly interested in papers around methodologies of mapping and evaluating inequalities and injustices and how this is considered, interpreted and experienced across landscapes.
We also welcome proposals for a creative workshop where we can have a more hands-on session where we share tips and tools around putting all of this into practice.
LGWG's central purpose is to create an inclusive community and space for geographers researching landscape across and beyond the discipline. The working group also aims to provide a space for a broader, more inclusive and more diverse approach to the concept of landscape.
We'll also be sharing information about our LGWG photo competition which will be running this spring and summer and will include a session at the Annual Conference on ‘What does landscape mean in my research?’ where the subject of photography in research will be considered and prize winners announced.
The conference will take place at the Society and Imperial College London, and online, from Tuesday 1 to Friday 4 September 2026.
More information on the conference theme, as well as guidance for session organisers, is available.
Please submit your expressions of interest by 6.00pm GMT on Friday, 30 January 2026, by emailing Nicola Dempsey (n.dempsey@sheffield.ac.uk) and Meredith Whitten (meredith.whitten@ucl.ac.uk).
Deadline: 30 January 2026.
