Transport Geography Research Group conference session sponsorship

The call for sessions and papers for the 2026 Annual International Conference, on the theme of Geographies of inequalities: towards just places, is now open. We would like to invite you to submit session proposals for Transport Geography Research Group (TGRG) sponsorship for this conference.

The conference will take place in London at the Society and Imperial College London, and online, from Tuesday 1 to Friday 4 September 2026, and will be chaired by Professor Peter Hopkins (Newcastle University, UK).

We particularly encourage sessions on the conference theme, but we will also consider sessions on any aspect of transport geography.

If you would like to have your session sponsored by TGRG, please submit your session proposal to Gaurav Mittal (gaurav.mittal@ouce.ox.ac.uk) (TGRG Secretary) AND Lucy Budd (lucy.budd@sydney.edu.au) (TGRG Chair) by 20 February 2026.

Please include the following in your session proposal:

  • Session title
  • Names, affiliations and email addresses of the session convenors
  • Session delivery (either in-person, hybrid, or online)
  • Session format (e.g. papers, panel, discussion, workshop, or something else)
  • Number of required timeslots (one or two)
  • A session abstract (about 200-300 words)
  • Up to five keywords

The deadline for submissions is 20 February 2026, and we will confirm session sponsorship by 27 February 2026.

Selected session organisers should inform us by 4 March 2026 of any changes to your session, including withdrawal or a reduction in the number of time slots you will use.

Requests for additional timeslots (up to a maximum of two) must also be submitted by 4 March 2026. We aim to respond to any such requests as soon as possible. You then have until 6 March 2026 to submit your full session proposal to according to Society procedure.
