Gender and Feminist Geographies Research Group committee vacancies

This September will see our excellent Gender and Feminist Geographies Research Group (GFGRG) treasurer Negar Behzadi finish her term in the role and so we are looking for her replacement.

The treasurer role for an RGS-IBG Research Group keeps the accounts, processes payments, and submits the group’s annual financial reporting. The RGS now holds the bank account for the group which has reduced a lot of the burden on this role so the treasurer will not need to hold the bank account.

The treasurer is a Research Group executive committee role so the holder must be a society Fellow. However, those whose circumstances prevent them from taking up Society Fellowship, are invited to submit an expression of interest for a bursary to support Fellowship.

For more information about how the research groups function and what the roles are, please click on the Research Groups Handbook link on this page. The RGS-IBG has also produced some vignettes on the benefits of joining a Research Group.

To stand for election for the role you must be nominated by two members of the broader GFGRG community (who do not need to be RGS Fellows).

Written nominations, briefly explaining your fit the role and why you are interested in it, should be sent to the GFGRG Secretary, Elizabeth Gagen (elg26@aber.ac.uk), by 5.00pm on Monday 7 September. Elections will take place at the GFGRG AGM on 10 September at 2.00pm.

If anyone would like more information about the role, please email me as the GFGRG chair at c.freeman@exeter.ac.uk.
