Geographies of Health and Wellbeing Research Group committee vacancies

There is a vacancy on the Geographies of Health and Wellbeing Research Group (GHWRG) committee for the position of Secretary.

This is an executive position alongside the Treasurer and President, and is joined by a committee of health geographers representing many different interests, methods, career stages, institutions – some of these colleagues lead on our conference contributions, social media, dissertation prizes, and more!

One highlight of our academic year this year was the ENRGHI conference, for PGR and ECR health geographers, led by Ambra Bergamasco and Emma Lowe; another was the wonderful podcast about journeys in health geography, led by Chloe Asker.

We also have upcoming plans for a writing retreat and ability and keen interest to support any more initiatives from our members and committee.

The Secretary position – recently vacated by Wendee Zhang – is a really important one, involving organising committee meetings, taking notes, and any other initiatives you'd like to lead.

We will elect the next secretary at our annual AGM, which is Monday 7 September 11.00am, via Teams or Zoom.

If anyone is interested, please feel free to attend and just briefly tell us about you and why you'd like to be involved! You will need to be a Fellow of RGS for this Executive position (though can join after being elected) and of course a member of GHWG.

No particular experience is required – if you're interested, we'd love to have you.

If we have more than one person interested, we will look at expanding our committee to allow others to join too in other shapes and forms – the more the merrier!
