Political Geography Research Group committee vacancies

The Political Geography Research Group (PolGRG) of the RGS-IBG is excited to announce opportunities to join the research committee and to shape our activities over the coming years. We are sharing the details of our available committee roles below, and welcome expressions of interest using the link at the bottom of this email.

We will elect new committee members at our Annual General Meeting (AGM), which will be held at 1.00pm on Wednesday, 9 September via zoom. To join the meeting, please register in advance here.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Committee vacancies

This year's committee vacancies are as follows:

Chair (2026-2029)

Responsible for directing Research Group activities, including chairing group meetings, coordinating committee projects, and liaising with the RGS-IBG.

Treasurer (2026-2029)

Oversees the committee finances and manages processes for annual reporting, stipends, and budgeting for planned events.

Ordinary Member (2026-2029)

A flexible role that allows you to propose or support committee activities such as the undergraduate dissertation prize, online seminars, or in-person events.

Early-Career Representative(s) (2026-2027)

Represents ECR interests in all committee discussions and planning, with opportunities to organise ECR-focused events or RGS-IBG conference sessions.

Postgraduate Representative(s) (2026-2027)

Represents PGR interests in all committee discussions and planning and organises a PGR/ECR-focused paper session at the RGS-IBG annual conference.
