We are delighted to be working with the Department for Education to run the Society's Geography Teacher Training Scholarship programme for geographers starting their teacher training in the autumn of 2018.

These prestigious Scholarships provide outstanding trainees with significant financial and professional support. This includes £28,000 tax-free funding and a wide range of additional benefits including: training events, access to materials and resources, Fellowship of the Society, membership of the Geographical Association, networking opportunities and other support to complement teacher training.

“It was my geography teacher who inspired me to study this subject and I want the next generation of new teachers to have a similar positive impact on their pupils. So if you are a passionate geographer, who can meet our selection criteria and wants to become a teacher, I’d encourage you to apply for a RGS-IBG Geography Teacher Training Scholarship”.

- Nicholas Crane, President (2015-2018), RGS-IBG
