Aim

To oversee the applications for the status of Chartered Geographer.

To guide the development of policy and strategy for the Chartered Geographer scheme.
Terms of Reference

To oversee the applications for Chartered Geographer status, in accordance with the rules approved by Council, to assure applications are considered fairly and consistently.

To consider and recommend policy and strategy on the Chartered Geographer scheme for consideration by the Council.
Structure

The Chartered Geographer Committee will normally comprise seven members reflecting the appropriate professional balance of the Chartered Geographer scheme.

Members of the Chartered Geographer Committee are to be Chartered Geographers who have significant experience as assessors

Members of the Chartered Geographer Committee may not be members of the Appeals Committee (the Appeals Committee is independently established by Council), although they may provide guidance to that committee.

Members of the Chartered Geographer Committee are normally to be appointed for three year terms, with the possibility of an extension for a further three years.

The Chair of the Chartered Geographer Committee shall serve on the Professional Practice Group.

The Chartered Geographer Committee will meet at least once per year.

The Professional and Policy team is to provide the secretarial support to the Chartered Geographer Committee.
