Following the success of our summer film night in July, we are seeking submissions for a winter edition to be held on the evening of Wednesday 4 February 2026.
If you are a filmmaker working on geographical themes, this is an excellent opportunity to platform your work and share it with an engaged, public audience.
Submission criteria
- The theme is Journeys with purpose, and we are looking for completed short films up to 30 minutes in length. You are encouraged to interpret this brief creatively, and in the context of the Society's mission to advance geographical knowledge.
- Films may have been previously screened in public and/or be available online, but must not be subject to a screening license fee.
- Submissions will be screened by a panel of Society staff and Fellows and scored on a range of criteria, from thematic alignment to production values, impact and originality, before a final selection is made.
If selected, your film will be screened in the Society’s Ondaatje Theatre and we may invite a representative to participate in an in-person Q&A as part of the evening programme.
Submissions close on Friday 7 November at 5.00pm.
