We are looking for one or two new members to join our expert university programme accreditation review panel, which reviews all applications to the scheme.
We are particularly keen to hear from geographers working in industry or employers who hire geography graduates. Candidates should be interested in geography in higher education and maintaining a high standard of teaching.
What is involved?
Panel members play a key role in supporting the accreditation review process, helping to assess each programme accreditation application. These applications consist of a written document of no more than 4,000 words, alongside supporting evidence such as programme and module specifications. Review periods conclude with a panel meeting to discuss and agree outcomes.
Application requirements
- Panel members will need to be able to commit around three days per year to panel-related work (dependent on the number of applications received), split across two application deadlines. This time includes reading and commenting on applications, and attendance at online meetings.
- Direct experience of university teaching and learning is not required, but we would expect panel members to have an interest in current practice in higher education.
If this sounds like it could be you, please send a letter of application expressing your interest in being part of the review panel and outlining any relevant experience, along with a current CV, to accreditation@rgs.org by 5.00pm on 10 October.
Please do share this opportunity with anyone who you think may be interested. We are committed to equal opportunities and endeavour to appoint a panel that is representative of the community.
