Transactions of the Institute of British Geographers, one of the Society’s scholarly journals, is looking for four new Editorial Board members to support the work of the journal and its editorial team.
In return, Editorial Board members receive a modest honorarium of £500 per year, alongside the opportunity to gain hands-on experience of making editorial decisions and setting journal strategies, while being mentored by an experienced team of editors.
The Editorial Board roles are suitable for scholars who have not previously held an editorial position but feel they would be in the position to do so within the next few years. They provide an excellent opportunity to gain editorial experience in one of the discipline’s leading journals.
The Transactions Editorial Board, which has 10 members, provides active support to the team of editors by increasing the diversity of sub-disciplinary expertise in the journal’s editorial team. It also provides clearer pathways into future editorial roles for scholars across the geographical community.
The appointments are for two years, with the option to extend for a third year.
Applications must be received by 4 December. We will be looking to appoint the board by mid-December with an expected start date in early 2025.
