Released in 2024 to mark the centenary of the 1924 Mount Everest expedition, Everest 24 is a beautiful collection of stories and contributions revealed by the Society’s photographs, films, artefacts and archival documents.

Everest 24 sets the expedition in its historical context, with essays by leading experts examining the geopolitical situation at the time, how the expedition was documented on camera and film, and its resulting legacy.

With narratives of the expedition often centring on Western viewpoints, the book also highlights recent research on the Society’s Collections and the roles of the people and communities of India, Tibet and Nepal.
