National Apprenticeship Week runs from 9-15 February, celebrating the apprentices, employers, training providers and organisations who make apprenticeships such a vital part of the UK skills landscape.
Apprenticeships are a great opportunity to gain practical skills in the workplace whilst studying at the same time. You’ll be paid a salary and be part of a team, but you’ll also get dedicated study time throughout the week.
To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, we’re sharing more about apprenticeships that use geographical knowledge and skills.
Kane Cunliffe completed a Level 6 Apprenticeship in Digital Technology Solutions.
“A highlight of my apprenticeship was the opportunity to learn alongside a cohort of apprentices from diverse organisations and industries. I encourage anyone interested in a hands-on learning experience and a direct path to a fulfilling career, to seriously explore apprenticeship options.”
Alex Butler is currently doing a five-year environmental sustainability apprenticeship with Balfour Beatty through Kingston University.
“I know the experience will greatly benefit me as it offers the opportunity to integrate academic knowledge with hands-on experience. An apprenticeship offers you a combination of practical and academic experience which you don’t usually get from a traditional educational route.”
