We have recently approved the accreditation or reaccreditation of four geography programmes at two higher education institutions across the UK. Our accreditation scheme supports the continuous quality improvement of geography degree programmes and promotes good student outcomes across the sector. It’s also a great way for university departments to demonstrate their good practice in teaching and learning.

During the process, our Accreditation Review Panel assesses undergraduate programmes against the 2022 QAA Subject Benchmark Statement for Geography. The statement defines what can be expected of a graduate in terms of the knowledge, understanding, skills and approaches they have gained through their degree programme.

We’re delighted to announce that programmes at the following institutions were recently accredited:

Northumbria University

  • BSc (Hons) Geography
  • BSc (Hons) Physical Geography

King’s College London

  • BA Geography
  • BSc Geography and Environmental Science
