We are thrilled to announce that we recently received the Geographical Association Publishers' Award at the GA Conference for our I can see the sea resources.

The GA awards recognise resources that make a significant contribution to geography in primary schools, secondary schools or colleges, and encourage the creative development of new materials. Produced in partnership with Royal Holloway, University of London, our winning resources explore how humans interact with the sea using aquariums as the lens. They include lesson presentations and worksheets, providing everything needed for classes to discover the world of the ocean.

Congratulations to all the project collaborators including Rachel Owen from the Society (pictured), Professor Kimberley Peters from the University of Oldenburg and Dr Rachael Squire from Royal Holloway, University of London.

On winning the award, the Society’s Education Team commented: “We are so pleased. It was excellent to work with RHUL to create resources for upper KS2 (ages 9-11) and lower KS3 (ages 11-13), and encourage students to discover the ocean. This partnership was particularly special as our higher education collaborations typically focus on resources for examination-level students, so we are delighted to have been able to provide resources for KS2 and KS3 this time. We look forward to collaborating with other organisations in the future, continuing to highlight the importance of creative resources for geographical education.”
