Earth Photo 2026 is now open for entries, inviting photographers and filmmakers of all ages, working anywhere in the world, to submit compelling visual stories about our planet.
Photography and film have never been more powerful in helping us understand the challenges our planet faces, and the acts of resilience, restoration and hope taking place every day.
Originally established in 2018, by Forestry England, Parker Harris and the Society, Earth Photo is a leading international platform for image-makers who explore the natural world, its peoples and environments, and the urgent issues shaping our time. Earth Photo is a partnership between the Society, Parker Harris and Photoworks.
We are also delighted to acknowledge the contribution of founding partner Forestry England, whose early support helped to make Earth Photo possible.
Celebrating biodiversity, resilience, and creativity
For 2026, the judges are looking for work that highlights the stories that show life on a changing planet. This includes the ways people connect with nature and the impacts of climate change on communities and ecosystems.
We welcome work that celebrates biodiversity and conservation, the knowledge, resilience and adaptation of Indigenous communities, and encourage all perspectives and creative approaches that spark reflection and conversation.
Exhibition opportunities for selected work
Shortlisted artists will be considered for exhibition opportunities and for all Earth Photo awards. Their work will feature in the Earth Photo 2026 online gallery, and their work will be considered for inclusion in Aperture, the New Scientist’s photo spread.
They will also have the opportunity to display their work alongside other shortlisted works in Earth Photo exhibitions across the UK. This includes the exhibition at the Society in London, from 26 June to 22 July 2026.
Submission guidance and deadline
Individuals and collectives are encouraged to submit up to 10 images, as singles or a series, that have been created within the last five years.
In addition to photographs, we welcome short films between five seconds and five minutes long.
All entries should be submitted online by 5.00pm on Monday 4 March 2026. An entry fee of £15 will be charged to each entrant (covering up to 10 works).
