School Essay Competition 2024 winners announced
The Society and the Financial Times are delighted to announce the winning and highly commended entries to our joint School Essay Competition.

Each year, the Society’s medals and awards recognise geographers who have made outstanding contributions to geographical research, fieldwork, teaching, policy, and public engagement.
New recyclable membership card revealed
Elrea Song’s Combing the Sea, Combing Peace has been selected to feature on the Society’s membership card for 2025. Moving away from the compostable plastic used previously, the new cards are made from 100% recycled materials.
Society closing times over Christmas
The Society's building will be closed completely between Monday 23 December 2024 and Friday 3 January 2025, inclusive, with Society staff working remotely on 23 December and 2 and 3 January. We will re-open with our normal hours from Monday 6 January 2025.
