Work for us
Our work brings together people who are curious, collaborative and committed to making a positive impact.
Established in 1830 to promote the advancement of geographical science, we are now a dynamic world centre for geography and geographical learning.
About the Royal Geographical Society
Supporting research, education, expeditions and fieldwork — alongside promoting and facilitating knowledge exchange, public engagement and informed enjoyment of our world — are at the core of our work.
We have charitable status and we work with international as well as UK-based audiences. We employ approximately 60 staff, and benefit from significant support from volunteers.
We are based in a listed building in our own grounds in Kensington, opposite Hyde Park. We also operate nine regional branches in the UK and two overseas.
Work experience
We are currently not offering work experience placements for either for school students (age 11 to 18) or geography students at university.
Unfortunately, we are not able to provide individual guidance to students or parents, however please visit our resources on finding and making the most of work experience and browse our work experience directory for opportunities.
