The Welsh Government offers paid placements with the Data and Geography team working on the geospatial data portal (Data Map Wales), or in the geographic analysis area.

Digital transformation of public services is vital to delivering the services that the people of Wales expect and need. The Welsh Government currently delivers digital services to people and businesses across Wales.

Led by our Chief Digital Officer, the Welsh Government is increasingly delivering more services online. The Chief Digital Officer provides a consultancy service of digital and data expertise to business areas across the Welsh Government.

The Government Geography Profession (GGP) in the Welsh Government supports a range of geospatial and digital services across the whole organisation. As part of the GGP, you will be a key part of the Data & Geography team and will make a significant and direct contribution for the people of Wales.

Education stage

Aimed at undergraduates and postgraduates who are required to participate in a work placement as part of their course.

Location

In-person and hybrid options available across Wales, Cardiff preferred.

Duration

50 weeks.
