The Black Cultural Archives collects, preserves, and celebrates the histories of people of African and Caribbean descent in the UK through archives, museum objects, and a reference library, while also providing educational programs, gallery exhibitions, and public events to inspire and strengthen individuals, communities, and society.
Youth Programme
Black Cultural Archives’ Youth Programme brings together people aged 16 to 25 of African and Caribbean heritage, offering a space to develop skills for careers in the arts and heritage sector. Based in Windrush Square, the group meets fortnightly, with members able to participate until their 26th birthday.
More about the Archive
The BCA collects and preserves materials that redress the historical balance and representation of people of African and Caribbean descent in Britain. Their archive collection is now one of the most comprehensive collections that document the history and cultural heritage of Black Britain.
