We Speak runs programmes and workshops for young people from underrepresented backgrounds who lack speaking confidence. The team work with students at schools, sixth form colleges and universities.
Established in recognition of the importance of communication skills for today's youth and for their employability, We Speak exists to bridge the gap in which over 50% of students don't feel confident sharing ideas in class.
To make things worse, young people from lower income backgrounds are twice as likely to have communication difficulties.
Programme
As part of a four-week digital programme, students will be paired with a corporate mentor to develop their speaking confidence and presentation skills.
Students will also practice interview skills and explore career pathways, with opportunities for feedback throughout.
