David is a CEO of his own international media business, which he set up 25 years ago after travelling widely across the world. He is a Society Fellow, and hopes to encourage young people to travel and explore the world.

I have owned my own international media business for 25 years, where I have been able to work across the world and engage with many different countries and cultures. I am pragmatic and results oriented, and a business consultant working for venture capital. I have had prior roles in UK National Newspapers.

Why I want to become a professional ambassador
Having come from a modest background with no experience of the world, I chose to see it and spent 2 years solo travelling in Africa, India, Sri Lanka Nepal, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia and Canada. It inspired me to set up my own international business when I returned to the UK. I want to air a voice for those who love geography and travel but may not have had the opportunity to appreciate it. I want to encourage them to just go and do it!
