The John Noel Collection donation includes a journal Sybille Noel kept during a journey across Sikkim and Tibet, a previously unknown record of the 1924 Everest expedition.

Confined to the foothills, she collected local folk tales, while her husband filmed The Epic of Everest and artist Francis Helps painted portraits and landscapes. This account offers a rare, behind-the-scenes perspective of the historic climb.

Part of our Be inspired series spotlighting fascinating research on our Collections.
