As a community of geographers, we are excellent at finding innovative ways to teach and engage our students, but one area that still needs work is the role and impact of assessment and feedback.

When trying to improve both assessment and feedback in our geography departments and classrooms sometimes it is difficult to know where to begin. The research and literature is complex, sometimes confusing and with so many different ideas, strategies and ways of doing things, it is hard to know what to do, what to implement and what works.

In this session, Chris will explain how his departments have worked on developing new strategies for assessment and feedback, what has worked for them and offer teachers practical advice and strategies on where to begin when implementing new assessment and feedback methods in the classroom.
