The Society's Climate Change Research Group (CCRG) is hosting an expert panel discussion to address the details, outcomes, expectations as well as critique of COP 30 in Belém, Brazil.
The panellists will discuss the challenges of climate governance and cooperation in view of the recent geopolitical upheavals and share their prospects for the future.
About the speakers
- Eliot Whittington, Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) Executive Director, Chief Systems Change Officer; Director of CISL’s Corporate Leaders Groups;
- Anna Åberg, Research Fellow, Environment and Society Centre, Chatham House; her work focuses on international climate politics, the UN climate negotiations, and climate finance.
- Dr Angus McNelly, King’s College London interdisciplinary scholar interested in the politics of transformative change and twenty-first century capitalism. His research examines the Left in Power, state-social movement relations, the political economy of development in Latin America, natural resource-led development and extraction, and energy transitions.
