Join us for a four-part webinar series covering the launch of a new book Geographical Perspectives on Disaster Risk Management published by Wiley and featuring members of the Royal Geographical Society Disaster Risk Management Professional Practice Group.
There are four sessions spread across early summer, lasting 45 minutes each:
- Session 1 – Asset, infrastructure and exposure data – explores what’s at risk
- Session 2 – Disaster preparedness and risk reduction – investigates types of hazard, disaster risk reduction and protection
- Session 3 – Event monitoring, post damage assessment and recovery – focuses on events - before, during and after
- Session 4 – Communicating and understanding risk – covers risk communication and uncertainty
In this session, speakers discuss the role of geography in mobilising event response and logistics, real-time monitoring and communication to damage assessment, civil recovery and implementation of lessons learned.
