How do we ensure that students have a positive and engaging start to their GIS journey?
In this hands-on workshop we will look at ways that you can give your 1st-year students a gentle on-ramp to GIS which gives them the confidence to use GIS to solve geographical problems. From turning spreadsheets into maps, finding supporting datasets or creating their own surveys to capture their own data in the field, we will show you how to use GIS to create digital geographers.
By the end of the day, you will be confident in using ArcGIS Online and other apps in your course, even getting your students to run NDVI analysis through a configured app.
The workshop is aimed at lecturers (both with experience of teaching 1st years GIS or with less GIS experience looking to teach 1st Year GIS). The course will give you CPD points to demonstrate professional development.
