All the people in a river or lake catchment can be persuaded to collaborate in the stewardship of the catchment. This will allow environmental stability to emerge.
About the speaker
Ian Richardson, growing up on a dairy farm, and working as an engineer, began to see "the tragedy of the commons" everywhere. Places used for many different purposes can deteriorate if individual stakeholders overuse their access.
Ian now spends time persuading users of catchment resources to engage in dialogue and collaboration to in order to promote sustainable environments.
