Join us for a tour of the Society's Everest 24 exhibition with the curator and special guest Vanessa O’Brien. Amongst many exploits Vanessa was the first woman to reach Earth’s highest (Mount Everest 8,848m) and lowest points (Challenger Deep 10,925m).

The tour will be led by exhibition curators Jamie Owen and Vanessa O’Brien. Drinks will be served at 6.30pm. There will also be an opportunity to see some of the photographic printing created as part of the ongoing digital conservation of the Everest negative collection.

    This exhibition will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 1924 British Mount Everest expedition during which Man Bahadur and Lance-Naik Shamsherpun tragically died and George Mallory and Andrew Irvine disappeared pushing for the summit.

    Please note this event is now fully booked. Join us for the launch and private viewing of our new exhibition commemorating the 100th anniversary of the 1924 British Mount Everest expedition. The event will also see the Society launch its newest book Everest 24.
