Australian artist Lisa Roet has spent the past decade creating large-scale public art installations that explore the urgent intersection of art, sustainability, and urban development.
Her internationally touring works have reached millions, using striking inflatable sculptures of primates as symbols of our deep connection to nature. These art installations in large urban centres globally, provoke reflection on biodiversity loss and the impacts of climate change.
In September 2025, Roet will unveil her 13-metre Great Ape installation on the terrace of the Royal Geographical Society in London, in partnership with Global Victoria and Creative Victoria. This powerful work highlights the role of public art in raising awareness around ecological and urban environmental issues.
An accompanying installation in the Society's Pavilion will be open to the public, with a program of talks and forums exploring the intersection of art, design, science, and sustainability. This initiative coincides with the World Design Congress, Design for Planet, taking place in London on 9-10 September.
