Telling the stories of borders helps to understand how political identities and how they are shaped, why the world looks as it does and also the scale of human folly. Why for example does landlocked Bolivia have a navy?

About the speaker

Jonn Elledge is a writer, journalist, Sunday Times bestselling author of 47 Borders as well as The Compendium of (Not Quite) Everything and Conspiracy: A History of Boll*cks Theories, and How Not to Fall for Them (with Tom Phillips).
