You’ve secured the funding, planned the route and logistics, and refined your aims and objectives, but how do you ensure your expedition story reaches the right audiences with maximum impact?

Many teams return with gigabytes of raw material but no cohesive narrative or realistic dissemination strategy, missing the chance to influence policy, satisfy donors, reward collaborators, or engage the public.

This practical storytelling day bridges the gap between field research findings and compelling media outputs. You will move from 'capturing everything' to 'capturing with purpose', learning a narrative strategy that starts long before you leave home – one that’s designed to succeed across a range of media and channels.

What you will learn:

  • Finding the strongest story, format and medium to support the subject matter you want to communicate.
  • Building a clear narrative arc (before, during, and after your time in the field).
  • Ethical content capture: how to work respectfully with people and places you encounter.
  • Practical techniques for conducting interviews and gathering strong supporting material.

What you will take home:

  • A Project Story Framework tailored to your current mission.
  • An expedition photo, video and audio capture checklist.
  • A structured interview question bank.
