This seminar, facilitated by Equal Adventure, introduces the inclusion of disability and race in expeditions and fieldwork. It is designed for field leaders who want to develop a more inclusive approach to their expedition and fieldwork practice.

It will enable attendees to explore the practicalities of running inclusive expeditions and fieldwork using a positive and functional person-centred approach. It will explore the practical and ethical issues for consideration by the leader and team, using case studies to illustrate key points or topics.

The seminar explains structures and methodologies used on numerous inclusive expeditions and field trials around the world. It explores each of the planning and preparation issues that may be a barrier to participation with marginalised communities.

Using BS8848 as a framework, the seminar will support participants to develop their practice around inclusion.
