Overtourism is reshaping destinations around the world, often faster than communities and ecosystems can adapt. This engaging talk explores how the rapid rise of visitor numbers affects local culture, housing, biodiversity, and the everyday lives of residents.

Through real-world examples, we’ll unpack the pressures placed on historic cities, fragile coastlines, and once-hidden natural wonders—and why traditional tourism strategies are no longer enough.

The talk also highlights innovative solutions emerging from policymakers, community groups, and responsible travel advocates. We’ll discuss practical tools such as visitor caps, dynamic pricing, alternative itineraries, and community-led tourism models that aim to balance economic benefits with long-term sustainability.

Whether you’re a traveler, expert, or simply concerned about the future of global travel, this talk may inspire you to rethink your travel footprint and support destinations in ways that help them flourish rather than struggle under the weight of popularity.
