Meet our speakers

Professor Nathalie Seddon is Professor of Biodiversity at the University of Oxford and a conservation scientist working on biodiversity, climate change, and nature-based solutions. Her research bridges science, policy, and practice to support both ecosystem integrity and human wellbeing.

Dr Liana Chua is a social anthropologist and the Tunku Abdul Rahman University Associate Professor in Malay World Studies at the University of Cambridge whose research explores the relationships between conservation, Indigenous communities, and the environment in Southeast Asia.

Dr Joshua Elves-Powell is Associate Lecturer in Biodiversity Conservation and Ecology at University College London and a National Geographic Explorer. His research explores how the ecology and conservation of rare and globally threatened species, particularly focussed on terrestrial mammal populations.

Chaired by Martine Croxall, a presenter with BBC News Channel and a Fellow of the Society.
